OpenSea has added World of Women to its Flagship Collection, giving the NFT project a more prominent position within the marketplace’s curated ecosystem. The collection launched in July 2021 with 10,000 hand-illustrated avatars created by artist Yam Karkai.
World of Women sold out on the same day it launched, becoming one of the more recognizable profile-picture collections from the 2021 NFT cycle. Its inclusion reflects OpenSea’s continued effort to highlight projects with established cultural histories rather than only recent trading momentum.

Flagship Status Strengthens Marketplace Visibility
OpenSea’s Flagship Collection functions as a curation and discovery layer inside the marketplace. Placement can increase visibility among collectors, even though it does not alter ownership rights, token supply or the underlying smart contracts.
That distinction matters because marketplace curation can influence attention without changing asset fundamentals. Featured positioning may improve discovery and cultural relevance, but it does not guarantee higher trading volume, liquidity or floor-price appreciation.
World of Women has expanded beyond its original avatar collection through several brand and cultural partnerships. OpenSea highlighted relationships involving Guy Oseary, Christie’s, FC Barcelona and Mastercard as part of the project’s broader development.
Project Has Expanded Beyond Its Original NFT Format
The collection moved to Tezos in 2024 and later evolved toward a lifestyle-club model, extending its identity beyond a conventional profile-picture project. That trajectory reflects how established NFT brands have experimented with community, membership and physical-world positioning.
The Flagship addition gives OpenSea greater influence over how the project is presented to marketplace users. As NFT platforms compete on discovery and cultural authority, curated categories can become important tools for directing collector attention.
OpenSea has not detailed the selection criteria or promotional treatment attached to the designation. It remains unclear whether World of Women will receive additional homepage placement, editorial support or dedicated marketplace features.
The update confirms World of Women has joined OpenSea’s curated Flagship Collection. The next useful indicators will be changes in marketplace visibility, trading activity, collector engagement and whether the designation produces sustained attention beyond the announcement.
