KuCoin has listed 龙虾, a memecoin issued on BNB Chain, opening a new spot market against USDT on August 27, 2026. According to the exchange’s official 龙虾 listing announcement, deposits opened immediately through the BSC-BEP20 network, with spot trading scheduled for 11:00 UTC following a one-hour call auction. The listing gives 龙虾 access to KuCoin’s centralized spot market while leaving its underlying token infrastructure on BNB Smart Chain.
The exchange also set withdrawals to open at 10:00 UTC on August 28 and confirmed that API users should identify the pair as LONGXIA-USDT. KuCoin describes 龙虾 simply as a memecoin on BNB Chain, without providing a broader utility proposition in the listing notice. That makes the immediate development primarily an access and liquidity event rather than evidence of a new protocol feature or fundamental catalyst.
Spot Listing Expands Access to 龙虾
The BSC-BEP20 deposit route means users transfer 龙虾 using BNB Smart Chain’s standard token infrastructure. The official BEP-20 specification defines the interface used by fungible tokens on BNB Smart Chain, including transfers, balances and approvals for third-party applications. KuCoin’s support therefore connects a BNB Chain-native asset with a centralized order-book market without changing the token’s underlying network standard.
Once trading opened, the listing also made 龙虾/USDT available to several of KuCoin’s automated trading services, including Spot Grid, DCA and Smart Rebalance. Those tools can increase the number of ways customers interact with the market, but their availability does not establish underlying demand, liquidity depth or price stability. The exchange itself warns that crypto assets remain highly volatile despite its token-screening process.
Memecoin Trading Remains Demand-Driven
The speculative nature of the asset class provides important context for the listing. In its Staff Statement on Meme Coins, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Corporation Finance said meme coins are typically driven primarily by market demand and speculation and often have limited or no functionality beyond entertainment or social purposes. That general characterization helps explain why an exchange listing can become a meaningful short-term trading catalyst even when no corresponding technical development has occurred. The SEC statement addresses meme coins broadly and does not make a determination about 龙虾 specifically.
KuCoin’s listing therefore increases accessibility but does not, on its own, demonstrate sustainable market interest. The more meaningful indicators will emerge from post-listing trading volume, order-book depth and the ability of liquidity to persist after the initial attention surrounding the launch fades.
The confirmed development is straightforward: 龙虾 has moved into KuCoin spot trading with a USDT pair and BNB Smart Chain deposits. Any broader conclusion about adoption or market significance will require actual trading data rather than assumptions based solely on the listing event.
