Binance to Remove GLM/BTC, KNC/BTC, ONT/BTC and XAI/USDC Spot Pairs on July 17

Binance will discontinue trading for four spot pairs on July 17 at 03:00 UTC, removing GLM/BTC, KNC/BTC, ONT/BTC and XAI/USDC from its spot market. Open orders tied to those specific pairings will be automatically canceled once the deadline passes.

The change applies only to the quoted trading pairs, not to the underlying tokens themselves. GLM, KNC, ONT and XAI will remain accessible through other active trading routes on Binance and external venues.

Pair Removal Targets Market Efficiency

Spot-pair retirements are a standard centralized exchange maintenance process. Exchanges regularly review trading pairs to manage liquidity fragmentation, order book depth and routing efficiency across their markets.

Removing a pair does not necessarily mean a broader reassessment of the listed asset. In this case, Binance is pruning specific liquidity corridors rather than ending platform support for the tokens.

The immediate impact is mechanical for traders and market makers. Automated systems routing orders through GLM/BTC, KNC/BTC, ONT/BTC or XAI/USDC will need to adjust before the cutoff.

Liquidity May Shift to Alternative Quotes

Once the pairs are retired, trading activity may concentrate into remaining active order books for the affected assets. That can shift liquidity toward other quote currencies as traders move away from the discontinued BTC and USDC corridors.

For manual traders, the key issue is pending order management before July 17. Any open orders left in the affected pairs will be canceled automatically rather than executed after the cutoff.

Binance did not specify the internal thresholds behind the removals, such as volume, liquidity depth or maintenance criteria. The decision is consistent with routine pair optimization across centralized spot markets.

The update represents a targeted spot-market adjustment rather than a token delisting. Traders using the affected pairs have until July 17 at 03:00 UTC to close or reroute activity through Binance’s remaining active markets.
