PancakeSwap Captures 75% of BSC Spot DEX Volume with $1B+ Traded in 24h

PancakeSwap said it accounted for 75% of BNB Smart Chain spot DEX volume and handled more than $1 billion in trading activity, citing a Blockworks Research dashboard. The disclosure was posted by PancakeSwap on X on June 3, 2026, but the underlying Blockworks metric is behind a research login, so the 75% share should remain attributed to PancakeSwap rather than presented as independently reconstructed here.

The $1 billion-plus figure appears to refer to the same BSC spot DEX volume snapshot promoted in PancakeSwap’s post, but the public Blockworks page does not expose the full chart data without access. When reviewed on June 3, 2026, at 8:39 a.m. PT, DeFiLlama’s BSC chain page separately listed $1.218 billion in 24-hour DEX volume for the entire BSC network, which is broadly consistent with a billion-dollar market window but not a direct confirmation of the exact Blockworks dashboard interval.

BSC Spot Volume Should Stay Separate From Multichain Modules

The BSC spot DEX claim should not be blended with PancakeSwap’s multichain activity. DeFiLlama’s PancakeSwap AMM V3 page, reviewed on June 3, 2026, showed $1.013 billion in 24-hour DEX volume across all tracked AMM V3 chains, with $742.8 million on BSC, $190.79 million on Base, $42.7 million on Solana and smaller amounts across other networks.

Other PancakeSwap modules add separate activity and should be identified individually. PancakeSwap Infinity showed $171.42 million in 24-hour DEX volume, including $169.87 million on BSC, while the older PancakeSwap AMM page showed $62.53 million in 24-hour volume, including $62.09 million on BSC, when reviewed at the same June 3, 2026, 8:39 a.m. PT checkpoint.

Routing and Market-Maker Infrastructure Add Context

PancakeSwap’s routing stack helps explain why the protocol remains a major execution venue on BSC, but it should not be used as proof of the 75% share without the dashboard breakdown. The protocol’s documentation says its Smart Router can compare AMM liquidity with quotes from white-listed market makers and route trades to whichever source offers better execution at that moment.

The hybrid market-maker model also remains distinct from standard AMM liquidity. PancakeSwap says market makers are integrated on Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain, but they are not expected to quote at all times and may not fill very large trades, which means the feature is an execution enhancement rather than a guarantee of constant liquidity depth.

CAKE’s market data should also be dated separately from DEX volume. When reviewed on June 3, 2026, at 8:39 a.m. PT, Phemex listed CAKE at $1.34, with a market capitalization of $434.37 million, 24-hour volume of $52.48 million and circulating supply of approximately 325.15 million CAKE.

For now, the clean editorial framing is narrow: PancakeSwap says it controls 75% of BSC spot DEX volume and handled more than $1 billion in the cited dashboard window, while public DeFiLlama data shows substantial, but separately measured, BSC and multichain volumes across AMM V3, Infinity and legacy AMM modules. Broader claims about CAKE sustainability, long-term market-share durability or cross-chain growth still require additional revenue, liquidity, emissions and user-retention data.
