Sberbank Issues Russia’s First Corporate Crypto-Backed Loan To Bitcoin Miner Intelion Data

Sberbank has issued Russia’s first corporate crypto-backed loan to Bitcoin miner Intelion Data, using mined Bitcoin as collateral. The pilot—while keeping financial terms undisclosed—signals an initial move toward integrating mined digital assets into ruble-denominated corporate lending. Sberbank accepted Intelion Data’s mined Bitcoin…

Bitcoin mining difficulty nears record high as 2026 approaches

Bitcoin mining difficulty is closing in on record territory after the network’s final adjustment of 2025, hitting 148.2 trillion. Difficulty is projected to reach roughly 149–150 trillion by early January 2026, a shift that immediately tightens miner economics and raises operational risk.…

Bitcoin vs. Copper: Investors Reassess as Metal Outperforms Crypto in 2025

Investors are recalibrating allocations as copper’s 2025 rally outpaced Bitcoin, highlighting a renewed preference for assets tied to tangible industrial demand. The divergence between copper’s steady gains and Bitcoin’s late-year retracement is reshaping risk-return narratives for portfolio managers, custodians, and compliance teams.…

Altcoin Season Appears Over as Bitcoin Dominance Strengthens

Wintermute concludes that a broad-based altcoin rally is unlikely as Bitcoin captures most market capital. With Bitcoin dominance sustained in the mid-50s to mid-60s and the Altcoin Season Index at 20–30, the data points to a market-wide rotation away from smaller tokens,…

THE PROJECT IN PERSPECTIVE

Understanding Bitcoin.

A peer-to-peer monetary network.

Bitcoin is an open network for transferring value without a central operator. Its native asset, BTC, is used for transfers and transaction fees. Proof-of-work miners propose blocks, while validating nodes enforce the protocol’s rules.

The protocol, the asset and the businesses built around them are related but distinct. This dossier brings together newsroom coverage, selected software publications and network observations so those different stories can be followed in context.
