Canary Capital has launched the Canary Staked TRX ETF under the ticker TRXS on Cboe, giving investors exchange-traded exposure to TRON’s native asset alongside a staking component. The fund packages TRX price exposure and potential staking rewards inside a conventional listed investment product, removing the need for investors to directly manage crypto wallets or participate in staking themselves.
According to Cboe’s official TRXS listing page, the ETF was listed on September 9, 2026. Its primary objective is to track the price of TRX held by the trust, less operating expenses and liabilities, while a secondary objective is to earn additional TRX through TRON’s delegated proof-of-stake process.
TRXS Combines TRX Exposure With Staking
The structure gives investors economic exposure to TRX through ETF shares rather than through direct ownership of tokens held in a personal wallet. Buying TRXS is therefore not the same as purchasing and self-custodying TRX, even though the trust itself holds the underlying digital asset as part of its investment strategy.
The staking component adds another layer to the product. TRON uses delegated proof-of-stake, allowing TRX to participate in network validation through delegated voting and staking mechanics. Canary intends to use that process to generate additional TRX for the trust, potentially supplementing price exposure with staking-derived assets.
That design also introduces considerations beyond changes in TRX’s market price. ETF expenses, staking execution and the mechanics surrounding custody can affect investor returns relative to simply holding the token. TRXS provides a regulated market wrapper around TRX exposure rather than reproducing direct token ownership exactly.
TRON Gains Another Traditional Market Access Point
Cboe lists TRXS as a Canary Capital product and identifies Flow Traders U.S. as its lead market maker. The launch creates another route for investors to access a crypto asset through traditional brokerage infrastructure, extending the range of digital-asset products available on U.S. securities venues.
The staking feature is particularly notable because it incorporates a native blockchain activity into the ETF structure instead of limiting the fund solely to passive token custody. That approach reflects a broader evolution in crypto investment products toward wrappers that attempt to preserve some of the economic functionality available to direct token holders.
For TRON, the immediate significance is expanded distribution rather than a change to the underlying network. TRXS gives investors listed exposure to TRX and its staking economics through Cboe, while actual demand for the ETF will depend on trading activity and investor adoption after launch.
